Kids bikes FAQs

I’m buying my son his first bike without training wheels. What is then most important thing I should look for?
The size of the bike is imperatively important. A bike that is the wrong size can be dangerous for a young child. A bike that is too large or too small for a child could lead to problems with the steering, pedaling, and braking of the bike. Because bikes that are too large cause a child to try to ride the bike in an unnatural position, they are not able to keep their arms in the right position to steer properly. In the situations when there is a need to change directions or brake quickly, this can definitely cause problems.

The tire chain on my bike seems too loose and it keeps coming off track. How can I fix this?
A loose chain is often the result of a loose bolt that is meant to hold the chain in place. Fixing this is usually fairly simple. In order to fix a loose chain bolt, all a person needs to do is find the bolt, unscrew it so it moves freely in the slot in which it is located, and then pull it back. As the bolt is pulled back, the chain will become taut. When the chain is sufficiently pulled back, the last thing a person needs to do is tighten the bolt. Be sure to tighten it well so that the chain stays tight.

Because gas is so expensive, I’m considering riding a bike to work. Is there any certain thing I should look for as I am searching for road bikes?
It is important to keep safety in mind when a person is looking to buy a road bike. This means that a person should look for devices on the bike that will make him or her safer. For example, something like rearview mirrors are certainly important to have for a person who will be riding along busy streets. Similarly, those who ride in the evenings and the mornings when it is dark may want to look for electronic lights in order to bring more attention to themselves than typical reflectors would.
