Cheap bikes

People with a little know-how are able to find good deals on cheap bikes and fix them up to make a profit. People who are attempting to do something like this should do the following:

• Take off any of the tires or wires that are on the bike. Then, remove the seat as well as the handlebars. Basically, a person should take almost everything off of the bike. This will leave him or her with just the frame. All the pieces that were removed need to be firmly polished.

• Clean the frame well. A wire brush might work well. If there is a lot of rust on the bike, some steel wool might be better to use. If there is any paint that has peeled off, it should also be removed. Usually warm soap and water is all a person needs to clean the frame of the bike.

• A person hoping to sell cheap bikes they purchase will almost always need to re-paint the bike. A metal primer should first be applied to the frame. Then, spray paint can be used to paint the bike. It is best to paint the bike outdoors to avoid allowing too many fumes to get into one’s system.

• Most cheap bikes will require a second coat of paint as well. Be sure to let the first coat completely dry before the second is applied. The key to turning around cheap bikes for a profit is patience and work ethic. It will certainly take some work to make these bikes look nice, but a person who puts the time into the project will soon find that cheap bikes can be profitable.
