BMX bikes
Many people start riding BMX bikes because they are excited
at the prospect of catching big air and racing around hairpin turns,
however there is still sometimes some trepidation among those who are
attempting to make their first big jump.
A person who is new to riding BMX bikes would be wise to remember some
of the following tips:
• A person should give himself enough room to work up to a fairly
swift pedal. A person should reach the pinnacle of his speed at the
tip of the ramp. He should bend his knees and elbows as he stands on
his pedals just before he reaches the ramp. When the front wheel of
the bike reaches the front of the ramp, do not pedal any more. Instead,
a person should push down on the bike with pressure from his legs.
• The lip of the edge of the ramp should be hopped over, this
will help a person keep his or her speed. It is important that when
the BMX bikes leave the ramp that the ride is standing on the pedals.
If he is not, he will likely just fall.
• To properly land BMX bikes, a person needs to move the pressure
they are exerting from the pedals and instead put pressure on the handlebars.
However, a person needs to keep his body loose while in the air. By
keeping arms tight and bodies loose, riders are able to properly distribute
their weight when the bike impacts the ground.
